Rooms Rooted in Tradition

Designed by Culture. Built for Nature.

Our rooms are inspired by the traditional homes of the Tharu community—built not just to shelter, but to live in harmony with the land. Wherever possible, we have reused materials reclaimed from old Tharu houses, allowing stories of the past to continue in a new form.

The architecture follows indigenous wisdom. Thick outer walls made with mud mortar and locally made bricks provide natural insulation, keeping rooms cool in summer and warm in winter. Reclaimed wood, carefully restored, is used throughout the construction—from beams to details—reducing the need for new materials while honouring generations of craftsmanship.

Inside, the spaces are intentionally simple, clean, and modern. Subtle Tharu colours, tribal patterns, and handcrafted elements add warmth and character, creating rooms that feel grounded, calm, and deeply connected to Bardiya’s culture and landscape.
