FAQ

About BNL

Bardiya Nature Lodge is away from the main area of Thakurdwara, where most accommodations and hotels are situated. So we are rather more peaceful and nature-driven. BNL offers immersive wilderness experiences, combining responsible eco-tourism with authentic cultural encounters, guided wildlife safaris, nature walks, and serene relaxation. Our lodge is designed to blend comfort with conservation values.

Bardiya Nature Lodge is on the edge of the Khaata Migration Corridor, surrounded by lush forests and riverine landscapes. It is slightly outside the main area of Thakurdwara, but within a small village in the middle of farmland, with access to the Aurahi River, which flows year-round. While not deep inside park boundaries, the location provides excellent access to wildlife habitats and landscapes typical of Bardiya’s wilderness.

Planning Your Visit

The best time for wildlife viewing is during the dry season (roughly October to March), when animals gather near water sources, and foliage is less dense, improving visibility. For wildlife activity and birdlife, transitional months like February–June also offer rewarding experiences. Tiger sighting happens mostly during March-April, while elephants are seen during May-June.

We recommend at least 2 nights to enjoy a balanced mix of jungle safaris, guided walks, river experiences, and cultural immersion. Longer stays allow deeper exploration of park areas and surrounding communities.
